From an introverted city, not easy to read, Milan has become the capital of fashion, innovation and design. An experimental terrain reflected on the facades of the new skyscrapers.

Duomo - Milan Cathedral
The first stones of the Milan Cathedral were laid in 1387. Today it is the third largest cathedral in the world by surface, after Saint Peter in Rome and Saint Mary of the Seat of Seville.
The construction of the Duomo has involved numerous artists and sculptors over the centuries. Characterized by a surprising wealth of statuary decoration, the Cathedral was made of white Candoglia marble. The set of peaks, windows and large portals dominate the square in all their splendor.
The Terrace of the Cathedral, which can be accessed by lift, offers an enchanting point of view on the dense embroidery of flying buttresses and pinnacles that outline the cathedral.
On the main spire, 108 meters high, stands the golden statue of the Madonnina. From the terrace you can admire the main buildings in the historic center of Milan up to the new skyscrapers that redesign the Milan skyline.

Teatro alla Scala
Strongly desired by the Empress Maria Teresa of Austria, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, designed by the architect Giuseppe Piermarini, was inaugurated on August 3, 1778.
The name of the famous Milanese theater derives from the place on which it was built, or from the church of Santa Maria alla Scala. On this stage some of the best known works of the nineteenth century were represented: Bellini's "Norma", Verdi's "Otello" and "Falstaff", Ponchielli's "La Gioconda", Boito's "Mephistopheles" and Puccini's "Turandot".
This theater was the setting for the performances of famous artists: it hosted the voices of Maria Callas, Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo, the ballets of Leonide Massine, George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev and Carla Fracci, to name a few.
